Whatever you say, Josh

“Having somebody help you doesn’t mean that you failed. It means that you’re not alone.”

– Messer, played by unbelievably handsome actor Josh Duhamel,

in the 2010 romantic comedy Life as We Know It

that I watched for the very 1st time

on my new DVD player (that I soon returned because I realized I didn’t actually have good use for it)

in August (which explains the photo in a sleeveless dress too!)

Don’t Succumb to Society

Tuesday, August 2, 2016, around 11:30 I was watching a late-night return of “Friends” on Nick at Nite. Rachel was angry at Phoebe outside the coffee shop Central Perk. Why? Because Phoebe set Ross up with a friend and Rachel felt threatened that Ross might fall in love & marry the woman.

Rachel commented that Phoebe should have set him up with a bald woman, implying obviously that a female without hair is undoubtedly very ugly & would therefore pose absolutely no threat whatsoever.

Thanks a lot, Hollywood. For repeatedly sending the message in COUNTLESS commercials & TV programs that being bald is

*Nothing but Negative &

*Dreadfully Ugly &

*A thing to be hated.

This is part of the reason why staying home often appeals to me more than going out & being shunned by part of society. I understandably just get SO SICK & TIRED of it.

Some of us are totally free of follicles on top not by choice but by life’s circumstances.

I never thought I’d quote Taylor Swift but here goes nuthin’:

“Why you gotta be SO MEAN?”

Time to once again let this list I wrote – as a bald girl who lost her hair for the 1st time & desperately struggled to make positive sense of it – to rear its top-ten head:

The Top 10 Reasons Why a Bald Head is So Cool:

◊ You save money on shampoo and conditioner.

⇑ Wet hair doesn’t drip all over you after swimming or showering.

◊ You don’t have to deal with tangles.

⇑ You can stick your head in snow and feel refreshed like never before.

◊ Your cat curls around your head at night and keeps it warm.

⇑ You can sleep in later because you don’t need to blow-dry your hair.

◊ You can buy all the cute hats you want.

⇑ Head massages feel GREAT.

◊ You can scratch your head easier when you have an itch.

⇑ You never have a “bad hair” day.

Prayer PERFECTION . . . from a little one

From the strong innocent heart of a little 2-year-old girl,

unaware that she’s fighting for her life against Cystic Fibrosis,

comes a heartfelt sweet prayer her remarkable parents

overheard on their baby monitor.

I can only wish as a fellow follower of our Almighty God,

to always possess faith as unwavering as my

special little sister in Christ.

My favorite part of her prayer is the way she says “Bye God!” when she’s done praying, as opposed to the typical prayer sign-off of an older person of “Amen.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n64oeTrlmr0&feature=youtu.be

This priceless prayer warrior shows us by her awesome example, that we always need to give thanks for all we have, to God.

“Bye God” to that! (Amen to that!)

I (Ideally) Want To Do This, Do You Too?

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 16 Live in harmony with one another.

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
