Total Recall

Isn’t it funny what you suddenly remember out of the blue? It just happened to me:

When I was a kid in elementary school,

I became extremely uncomfortable

when other students stared at me at lunchtime

whenever I pulled a baggie of prunes

that I enjoyed snacking on, out of my lunch box.

So to silence the unwanted comments & disguise my embarrassment,

I told (I was known as a smart girl so I knew the kids would believe me)

the wide-eyed & gullible gawkers,

These are giant raisins.

What do you recall?

Quality Questions:

You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.

11 It is written:

“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
    every tongue will acknowledge God.’”

12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another.

HE’S Got It

With a life overflowing with broken relationships & even more than that, a body broken

slowly &

pathetically &

continually by my former years of cruel leukemia treatment,

& knowing very sadly that my health status will only far worsen from this point,

I need to be reminded tonight of the message in this (sung years earlier by my 2 oldest nephews) sweet & comforting video:

Count on Carrie

Today my left knee, right ankle, & left wrist are “telling me” to take it Easy with a capital “E.” I need to stay off my feet as much as possible to avoid worsening my present condition. My foggy eyes – which make my favorite pastime of reading a distant memory – are possibly fuzzy due to my headache, but one can only surmise the cause of this latest health problem of mine.

Thanks in a huge way goes out today to my extremely thoughtful & kind sister Carrie for calling & offering to pick me up lunch!

Takeout food is my thing, & healthier takeout is even better. The gluten-free cheeseburger, fries & orange pop pictured here are from the spectacular restaurant Moo Cluck Moo.

It means THE WORLD to me to interact like a “regular” (whatever that may be) individual & I get that from my sister.

Um, no thanks to anyone who only sees me as a walking cancer story & and focuses on “fixing” every part of me.

God gave me life with very challenging cancer treatment side effects but God also gave me strength to deal with all of them.
